Situation

Unable to send mails to any other user in an other Post Office
One user unable to send email to any user in an other Post Office
Sent items properties show the delivery status as pending when a mail is sent by one user to any other user in an other Post Office

Resolution

  1. Check the Message database associated with the problem user. Follow the steps listed below:
    • Login in with the Problem user
    • Click Sent Items
    • Right click on any mail and click Properties
    • Note down the Message Id:. It would be something like 4A9D3460.A37 : 174 : 58666
    • Look at the number between the :. In the above case it would be 174
  2. Now browse to the other Post Offices's Post Office Directory\OFMSG folder.
  3. Check if msgxx.db exists. (xx stands for the number that was noted in step 1)
  4. If the msgxx.db does not exists, restore it from the backup or run gwcheck with option "Structural Rebuild" on msgxx.db to drop it from the ngwguard.db. GWCHECK should show Error 26 proving that the database has been dropped from ngwguard.db. (xx stands for the number that was noted in step 1)
  5. Restart the Post Office Agent.
  6. Send the mail from the Problem user to the other Post Office and it should work fine now.
