Situation

ZCM fails chaining passthrough authentication with third-party single sign-on solutions, requiring the user to manually sign into ZCM agent.

Resolution

Due to change in Windows architecture, GINA authentication mechanism has been replaced by Credential Manager on both Windows Vista and Windows 7 platforms. Hence our current GINA chaining mechanism will not work with those platforms. Starting on ZCM 11 SP2, Novell has developed a new single sign-on mechanism based on Credential Manager instead, which will allow ZCM to consume authentication data stored on Windows Credential Manager by third-party single sign-on solutions.
