Environment

Windows 7 OS
Workstation logs into both AD and eDirectory
SecureLogin 7.0.3 HF2.1 installed in AD mode
Novell Client 2 SP2 for Windows 7 (IR4)
Logging in with the Novell login tile

Situation

Unable to make eDir connection with NSL installed in AD mode
Unable to map drive to eDirectory server
Login script won't execute
Login scripts don't run
eDir connections do not get made when logging into both eDir and Active Directory
Problem does not occur if SecureLogin is uninstalled
Re-installed SecureLogin and eDir connections started failing again

Resolution

Set the following registry value

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Protocom\SecureLogin\

DWORD:   ForceHKLMandNoDPAPI
value : 1

Alternatively, edit two settings on the "Advanced Login" tab in properties of the Novell Client as follows:
1. Set "Novell Logon" to OFF and
2. Set "Login with Non-Novell Credential Provider" to ON

With this configuration the user will log in to the domain and to eDirectory using the Windows login tile instead of the Novell Login tile.  SecureLogin will load successfully from the domain and the Novell Client will make a successful eDirectory connection.
