Revert to snapshot fails with error: Cannot complete the operation because the file or folder already exists

PlateSpin Protect
Situation
During an Incremental replication the job fails on "Reverting to Snapshot" or "Creating Recovery Point" with the following error message:
Cannot complete the operation because the file or folder already exists.
Resolution
This is a known VMware issue. To resolve the error message review the solutions provided in VMware KB article 1008058.
