Situation

How do I apply or update my NetIQ Directory & Resource Administrator (DRA) software license?
How do I apply or update the license key in NetIQ Directory & Resource Administrator (DRA)?
How do I upgrade my DRA license key?
How do I upgrade my trial DRA license key to a permanent DRA license key?

Resolution

To upgrade the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) version 8.6 SP2 (and later) license:
  1. Launch the Delegation and Configuration console (D&C) with the DRA Service Account credentials
  2. Select Configuration Management.
  3. Select Update License.
  4. Type the path or browse to the new license file, and click Next.
  5. Read the License Agreement, select Accept, and click Next.
  6. Review the New and Existing License Information to be sure the license to be loaded is not a trial license, and click Next.
    (Note: A trial license cannot be installed over another trial license or an existing permanent license, nor can the same license be installed twice.)
  7. Select the option to restart the DRA server service, and click Next.
    (Note: The service must be restarted for the new license to take effect.)
  8. Click Next.
  9. When the process finishes, click Finish.
 
To upgrade the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) version 8.6 SP1 (and prior) license:

  1. Run the setup program for DRA from Add/Remove Programs (Windows 2003) or Programs and Features (Windows 2008)
  2. Select Begin Setup.
  3. Select Advanced Configuration.
  4. Select Upgrade License and click Next.
  5. Type the path or browse to the new license file, and click Next.
  6. Read the License Agreement, select Accept, and click Next.
  7. Review the New and Existing License Information to be sure the license to be loaded is not a trial license, and click Next.
    (Note:  A trial license cannot be installed over another trial license or an existing permanent license, nor can the same license be installed twice.)
  8. Select the option to restart the DRA server service, and click Next.
    (Note:  The service must be restarted for the new license to take effect.)
  9. Click Next.
  10. When the process finishes, click Finish.
