- Peer-to-peer workload synchronization with Server Sync (P2V, V2V, P2P, V2P).
- Workload imaging with Flexible Images (X2I, I2X), with full or partial support for several third-party backup and archiving applications.

Operating Systems:

Windows Server 2008, Standard/Enterprise 32-bit, 64-bit (to VMware ESX 3.5 and ESX3i Update 2 and higher)
Windows Server 2008 R2 32-bit, 64-bit (to VMware ESX 3.5 and ESX3i Update 2 and higher)
Windows Server 2003, SP0, SP1, SP2, R2, Standard/Enterprise 32-bit, 64-bit
Windows Server 2000, Windows Advanced Server 2000, SP0, SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4, 32-bit
Windows XP Professional, SP0, SP2, 32-bit, 64-bit
Windows Vista, Business/Enterprise/Ultimate, SP1 and later 32-bit, 64-bit (to VMware ESX versions earlier than 3.5 U2)
Windows 7
Windows NT 4.0 Server 32-bit
Windows clusters 32-bit, 64-bit (Supported only to targets on VMware ESX 3.0.2 and later)

Notes:

> Windows 2008 X2V only supports migration to ESX 3.5 and ESX3i Update 2 and higher, and Citrix XenServer 5.
> Windows 2003 requires SP1 or higher for VSS and VSS-Block transfers.
> Live transfer method is not supported for Windows NT4, Windows 2000 without SP4 and Windows workloads with FAT volumes. These workloads can be migrated using the Offline (Take Control) method.
> Windows NT4 is only supported for fully automated, offline, P2V migration and offline server-sync to a virtual machine.
> Offline migration is not supported for workloads running Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.

Supported Linux Workloads

For the Linux platform, PlateSpin Migrate 9.0.2 provides Live and Take Control peer-to-peer workload portability support (P2P, P2V, V2P, V2V), including workload synchronization with Server Sync.

* Supported Linux file systems are EXT2, EXT3, and REISERFS.
* Workload imaging is not supported for Linux.

Operating Systems:

Red Hat Linux 7.3, 8 32-bit
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS/ES/WS 2.1 32-bit
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS/ES/WS 3, 4, 5 32-bit, 64-bit

NOTES:

Linux-based source workloads must be running a Secure Shell (SSH) server.
Linux-based source workloads must be Physical or Fully Virtualized. (Paravirtualized source Linux VMs are not supported.)
The current release of PlateSpin Migrate provides support for live transfer of Linux workloads (SLES 10, 11 and RHEL 4, 5.x). For live block-level migration of Linux workloads with customized kernels, PlateSpin block-based module included in the PlateSpin Migrate distribution must be rebuilt. See TID 7005873 for more details.

PlateSpin Migrate 9.0.2 provides support for X2V migration* of Solaris workloads running on SPARC systems. The supported versions are Solaris 10, Update 5 (U5) and Solaris 10, Update 6 (U6). These workloads can only be migrated into native zones in Solaris 10 zone servers that are running the same update version.

*Workload imaging and migration to physical platform is not supported for Solaris.

NOTE: Solaris source workloads must be running a Secure Shell (SSH) server.
