Situation
Starting an installation of a XEN full virtualized guest from a physical media fails with:
Booting from CD-Rom...
CDROM boot failure code : 0003
Boot from CD-Rom failed: could not read the boot disk
No bootable device.
Powering off in 30 seconds.
Resolution
Workaround: Please create an ISO image of the CD / DVD using dd (e.g.,dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/home/image.iso) until a fix becomes available.
Cause
Writeback handling for IDE devices in /usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm.
