Unable to install NQCCDB to Clustered SQL Server 2008 on default instance

Environment

NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x Platform Update
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 r2

Situation

The NetIQ AppManager Platform Update pre-install check does not enumerate the default instance for SQL Server 2008 r2 on a Windows Cluster when only the default instance is installed.

Resolution

To continue with installation and skip the pre-install check the following command can be ran:

NetIQCCSetup.exe /v"/l*v "C:\CC_msi.log" SKIPINSTALLATIONCHECK="1""

This will skip the pre-installation check and allow installation. It will place a verbose log in the C:\ drive.
