Environment
NetIQ Directory & Resource Administrator 8.6 SP2
Situation
What are the steps to correctly rollback a hot fix on DRA 8.6 SP2 version?
How do I uninstall a DRA 8.6 SP2 hotfix?
Resolution
In Directory & Resource Administrator (DRA), to remove a hotfix you need to perform a complete reinstall of base version of DRA. Sine there is not an 'uninstall' option for DRA hotfixes, a repair installation of DRA is the best approach to remove a hotfix. In order to successfully ‘remove’ a hotfix, please perform the following steps:
- Back up the 2 Log Archive Service (LAS) configuration files located on the DRA server:
- "NqLogArchiveServer.exe.config".
- C:\Program Files \NetIQ\DRA\NetIQLogArchive (32 bit operating systems)
- C:\Program Files (x86)\NetIQ\DRA\NetIQLogArchive (64 bit operating systems)
- "LogArchiveConfiguration.config"
- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NetIQ\Directory Resource Administrator (for Windows Server 2003)
- C:\programdata\NetIQ\Directory Resource Administrator (for Windows 2008 machine).
- Perform a re-install of DRA 8.6 using Add/Remove programs select:
- NetIQ Administrator Products (DRA/ExA)
- Change/Remove
- Reinstall and then use the "complete" option.
- Restore the 2 backed up LAS configuration files and start the Netiq Log Archive service.
- Reapply DRA 8.6 SP2 and any need hotfixes.
