System Update fails to update ZESM setup.exe while installing ZESAdapter.dll

Environment

Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2
Novell ZENworks Endpoint Security Management 11.2

Situation

Error installed ZESM setup.exe during 11.2.3a Monthly Update 1 system update.

ERROR: in system-update.log

ERROR;MSI_INSTALL_ERROR;setup.exe,1603;

ERROR: in setup.exe.log:

Resolution

Workaround:

Disabling the ZENworks Agent Self Defense allows the System Update to install successfully.

Disable the ZENworks Agent Self Defense. This feature is available at Zone, folder or individual device settings: ZENworks Agent / Agent Security / Enable self defense for the ZENworks Adaptive Agent
Refresh the agent.
Redeploy the System Update
