NSS won't load after upgrade DomU guest to the kernel-3.0.80-0.5-xen

Environment

Novell Open Enterprise Server 11 (OES 11) Linux Support Pack 1
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2

Situation

Servers running OES11SP1 as a guest machine for Xen and Xen Citrix, will not be able to load NSS service after upgrade to kernel version 3.0.80-0.5-xen.

This problem only happens with kernel-xen and it did not affect servers running kernel-default.

Resolution

This has been resolved with the release of kernel to 3.0.80-0.7-xen as part if the slessp2-kernel-7960 security update dated July 5th, 2013.

Please reboot the server after the kernel has been updated.

Cause

An incompatible ABI change caused those modules to not load correctly.
