How to change admin password for DataSync Mobility Pack WebAdmin

Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack
Groupwise Mobility Service

Situation

How to modify or change the default admin's password for WebAdmin.
How to add and/or remove admin users.
How to change encrypted admin password

Resolution

Datasync Mobility Service 1.X
  1. Edit /etc/datasync/configengine/configengine.xml
    • To change the default administrator's login and/or password that was created from the installation:
      • Make changes to the following section:
        <login>
                <dn>cn=admin,o=novell</dn>
                <password>novell</password>
        </login>
        Note: This contains only the single default administrator account created in the Mobilility Installation.
      • The password above must match the admin's current LDAP password.
    • To add or remove additional administrators, make modifications to the following section:
      <admins>
              <dn>cn=admin,o=novell</dn>
              <dn>cn=admin2,o=novell</dn>
      </admins>
      Note: Additional administrators in this section are authenticated from Mobility to the LDAP server via LDAP.
  2. Save and then close the file.
  3. Restart datasync:
    rcdatasync restart
Groupwise Mobility Service 2.X
  1. Edit /etc/datasync/configengine/configengine.xml
    • To change the default administrator's login and/or password that was created from the installation
    • Make changes to the following section:
      <login>
      <dn>cn=admin,o=novell</dn>
      <password>novell</password>
      <protected>0</protected>
      </login>

      Note: This contains only the single default administrator account created in the mobility Installation
    • The password above must match the admin's current LDAP password.
  2. Save and close the file.
  3. Run the update.sh script
    /opt/novell/datasync/update.sh
