Workload is Windows 2008 or 2008R2 utilizing EMC disks
Situation
When attempting to add a workload the following error is seen:
Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.
Resolution
Contact support for a patch to resolve this issue.
Cause
This error is caused by a lack of information provided by EMC to WMI, which is utilized during the Add Workload process to discover information. This lack of information from EMC causes the Add Workload process to fail to find appropriate data on those disks (such as if the disk is local or not).
