Environment

Novell Cluster Services 1.8.4
Novell ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2.3 Inventory

Situation

Satellite collection servers stop sending inventory data to the primary servers. The inventory is collected on the managed devices and is uploaded to the satellite servers. The inventory data is then processed and added to the information to be rolled up to the primary server, but the data is never received at the primary server. The satellite server is also a cluster node hosting cluster services. When looking at the output of a "zac zc -l", the collection server addresses include the addresses for the cluster resources and the cluster master IP address.

Cause

Each satellite server that is also a cluster node can have any of the cluster resource addresses or the cluster master IP assigned to it or migrated to it. The addresses for the cluster resources will automatically be added by the agent to be used for ZCM services when they are active on the satellite. This can cause communication issues with the ZCM services on the satellite.
