Autodiscover unable to configure user if userID does not match the email address

Environment

Novell GroupWise Mobility Service 2.0
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11

Situation

Autodiscover is unable to configure the user account if user name differs from the email address like below
first.last@novell.com - email
flast - userID



Resolution

  1. Download and extract autodiscover.pyc, datastore.pyc and DeviceInterface.pyc from
    ftp://ftp.novell.com/outgoing/859962.zip
  2. Stop GMS by typing rcgms stop and press Enter
  3. Browse to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/device and rename autodiscover.pyc to autodiscover.pyc1
  4. Browse to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/device and rename DeviceInterface.pyc to DeviceInterface.pyc1
  5. Copy the extracted autodiscover.pyc and DeviceInterface.pyc to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/device
  6. Browse to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/storage and rename datastore.pyc to datastore.pyc1
  7. Copy the extracted datastore.pyc to /opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/mobility/lib/storage
  8. Start GMS by typing rcgms start and press Enter
