This document (7014817) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Novell Client 2 SP3 for Windows

When attempting to map a drive using a directory map object, the login results windows may display the following errors:
     LOGIN-LGNWNT32-400: A network drive cannot be mapped to a drive that is designated as a local drive.
     LOGIN-LGNWNT32-430: The following drive mapping could not be completed.

The directory map object is correctly configured.

Ensure that the map statement contains the correct syntax, including a leading dot, such as:
map s16:=.MyDirMap.novell
where the "MyDirMap" object resides in the "novell" container, and "MyDirMap" maps to a valid location.

Grant the user (or [Public]) trustee rights to the directory map object, and grant the user rights to the target location on the Novell volume.
