Unable to access GroupWise address books

Environment

Novell GroupWise 2012
Microsoft Outlook

Situation

When clicking Tools | Address book, the following error is seen:
The 'MAPI Session Handle' of the Novell GroupWise 'Object Request Broker' could not be accessed.  The address book cannot run (error status: 0x80004005).
 
When accessing Control Panel | Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2013) (32-bit) an error is seen
 

Resolution

  1. Uninstall GroupWise
  2. Uninstall Microsoft Office to remove Outlook.
  3. If problems are encountered uninstalling, the microsoft online fix it utility may be required to uninstall.  This can be access at http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/
  4. Reinstall GroupWise
  5. Reinstall Outlook

A bad Outlook install can cause this issue
