Environment

NetIQ Directory & Resource Administrator 8.6.x
NetIQ Directory & Resource Administrator 8.7.x
NetIQ Directory & Resource Administrator 9.0.x

Situation

NetIQ Directory Resource Administrator (DRA) has the ability to report on any DRA activity performed by any DRA Assistant Administrator. This report data is seen when right clicking on any AD object and choosing the reporting option. The results returned will be listed in multiple rows. By default DRA has a limit of 10,000 rows.

Resolution

To change the number of rows returned from a right click change activity report, you will need to edit the LogArchiveConfiguration.config file. This file is typically located in the C:\ProgramData\NetIQ\Directory Resource Administrator path, also known as the "All users" Windows Profile. To change the number or rows returned per query, change the value listed in <Property name="MaxRecordsPerQuery" value= , to a different value. After making the changes, you will need to restart the NetIQ DRA LogArchive Windows Service. This configuration file change must be done on every DRA Server.

Cause

The Record limit is coded in the product by default. The more records returned, the longer the query will take.

Additional Information

It is recommended to create a backup of the LogArchiveConfiguration.config before making any changes. It is also possible that DRA version upgrades could change this file as well. After a DRA upgrade to a new version it might be necessary to make the changes again.
