Resolution

Follow the steps below to rebuild the indexes on a Cached Mailbox:
  1. Close the GroupWise Client.
  2. Go to the rofdata directory of the cached mailbox and rename the index folder to old.index
  3. Open the GroupWise Client and login.
Note: A new index folder is created.
  4. Close the Client, and reopen again: An error message should popup about rebuilding, Select Yes to rebuild.
Every time Send/Retrieve is fired off, an indexing process will kick off (if one isn't already going) to index 1,000 items.

Additional Information

Alternatively, you can:
1. Close the GroupWise Client.
2. go to the rofdata directory of the cached mailbox and rename the index folder to old.index
3. run standalone GWCheck as per TID 7015583

After the index has been rebuild, and the caching / remote mailbox is fully functional again, the old.index folder created in step 2. may be deleted to regain the disk space.
