Two network interfaces on the file server
Situation
Accessing files on the server is very slow. Some applications time out waiting for the file to load.
Resolution
Disable user quotas. To disable quotas on the volume, load nssmu, select volumes, highlight the problem volume, and press enter, Then, scroll down to user quotas, and turn it off. The change will take effect immediately.
Cause
Unknown. Possibly, due to multiple network interfaces, the eDirectory query for user quota information is delayed if the "other" interface is used, and must time out before the correct interface is used.
