Situation
The installation of a patch fails.
Remark: patches can be downloaded from https://download.novell.com/patch/finder/ .
Problem:
During the installation of a patch, it fails with the below error message:
Error Installing package Image Operations Failed to install package through Web Service. Consider using direct update instead.
An error occurred in the Operations Framework server: The user does not have the object checked out.
Resolution
Log in as a local administrator on the PlateSpin server where you want to install the patch.
Then re-attempt patch installation.
If the issue persists, try the resolution from KB 7017828.
Cause
The issue is related to a lack of permissions, required to update the components.
