Vivinet Assessor Installation fails when attempting to install MSXML6. (NETIQKB72339)

NetIQ Vivinet Accessor 3.2
NetIQ Vivinet Accessor 3.3
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express
Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 3
Situation
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Setup fails when trying to install MSXML6 causing the Mainline VA installer to fail.
The following error message is logged in the installer log:
Fatal error during installation:
MainEngineThread is returning 1603
Resolution
In order to resolve the error described above please perform the steps documented in Microsoft Knowledge Base article referenced below:

Cause
The above error may occur in the following condition:
- When installing Vivinet Accessor 3.2 or 3.3 for the first time, and MSXML 6, Service Pack 2 (KB954459) has already been installed with Windows XP SP3.
- When attempting to upgrade from Vivinet Accessor version 3.2 to version 3.3 after MSXML 6 Service Pack 2 (KB954459) has been applied will cause the upgrade to fail. The installation failure will occur during the installation or modification of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express installation which is a part of the VA Mainline installer.
