SPA cannot connect to the SQL database after it has been moved to a new server.

Unable to connect to the SPA SQL database.
Receive: "Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection" error.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, validate that you are able to connect to the new SQL database using the SPA Service account credentials by performing this native test:

  1. Launch SQL Server Enterprise Manager
  2. Go to Tools and SQL Query Analyzer
  3. Select the SQL server the new SPA database has been moved to
  4. Select SQL Server authentication and put in the credentials for your SPA Service account

Provided the credentials are correct, you will be able to connect to the database.  If you are not able to connect, please see the following Microsoft article for resolution:   http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829868/

Cause

The SQL database has been moved to a different SQL server and SPA cannot connect to the database in this new location.
