How To Increase Logging Levels:

The following registry keys each contain settings for increasing the log settings for NetIQ Aegis:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\NetIQ\Aegis\IQConnect (x32)
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NetIQ\Aegis\IQConnect (x64)

This registry key contains settings to increase logging levels, log sizes, and the number of logs that are retained in regards to the Aegis Namespace Provider (pre 2.2) and adapters released prior to May 2011.  This should be used primarily for Aegis 2.1 and earlier versions unless otherwise instructed by Technical Support or Development.

  • logLevel can be set from 1 to 4 with 4 being debug level logging.
  • logRetention can be set to any number.
  • logSize can be set to any value from 102400(1MB) up.

This registry key contains settings to increase logging levels, log sizes, and the number of logs that are retained in regards to the Aegis Namespace Provider.

This registry key contains settings to increase logging levels, log sizes, and the number of logs that are retained in regards to the Resource Management Namespace Provider.

  • logLevel can be set from 1 to 4 with 4 being debug level logging.
  • logRetention can be set to any number.
  • logSize can be set to any value from 102400(1MB) up.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NetIQ\Aegis\ProcessGovernance (x64)

This registry key contains settings to increase logging levels, log sizes, and the number of logs that are retained in regards to the Aegis Engine and the Aegis Activity Broker services.  These logs will display errors related to workflow execution, activity execution, adapter event subscriptions and interaction with the Aegis Correlation Service.

  • logLevel can be set from 1 to 4 with 4 being debug level logging.
  • logRetention can be set to any number.
  • logSize can be set to any value from 102400(1MB) up.

Once the logging levels have been altered in the registry, you must restart the Aegis services for the changes to be honored.

 

How to Gather Logs for Aegis

For Aegis 2.1 and earlier:

  1. Open Windows Explorer on the Aegis Server
  2. Navigate to ...\Program Files\NetIQ\Aegis\IQConnect\Log (x32)
    or
    Navigate to ...\Program Files (x86)\NetIQ\Aegis\IQConnect\Log (x64)
  3. Zip the contents of this folder to provide logs for the:
  • Activity Broker
  • Namespace Provider
  • Aegis Engine
  1. Navigate to ...\Program Files\NetIQ\ResourceManagementService\log (x32)
    or
    Navigate to ...\Program Files (x86)\NetIQ\ResourceManagementService\log (x64)
  2. Zip the contents of this folder to provide logs for the:
  • Resource Management Namespace Provider

For Aegis 2.2 and later:

  1. Open Windows Explorer on the Aegis Server.
  2. Navigate to ...\Program Files\NetIQ\Aegis\IQConnect73\Log (x32)
    or
