Situation
Getting the error message ("An error was encountered while reading domain on the network 1208 "), while clicking the add synchronized domain button in the password sync control panel applet.
Search: passsync 1208 -1208 pwfilter pwfilter.dll
Resolution
The Computer Browser service has to be started to get the list of computers on Network. Go to Administrative tools//Services and start "Computer browser" Service. By default in Windows 2008 Server, it is disabled.
