Novell GroupWise 7
Novell ConsoleOne
Novell GroupWise Software Distribution Directory

Situation

It is not possible to set a UNC path for a Software Distribution Directory that is located on Linux.
GroupWise Clients are unable to find the Software Distribution Directory.
It is not possible to update the GroupWise Client on Windows using the Software Distribution Directory located on Linux.
The GroupWise Client cannot interpret a linux path for the Software Distribution Directory.

Resolution

This has been reported to development.

Additional Information

Root Cause:
In order to use the Software Distribution Directory (SDD) to push out GroupWise Client updates, the GroupWise Client must be able to interpret the path to the SDD.  In setting up an SDD on Linux, when a UNC path is entered, it is automatically converted to a Linux path even though there is an available field for the Linux path.  Consequently, the Windows based clients are unable to find the SDD.
