Error: "The program will not be loaded due to the HWD_Disable key set in the Novell configuration file".
Server hangs when loading ACPIDRV.PSM driver in STARTUP.NCF.

Resolution

1. Delete/rename the registry files (C:\NWSERVER\SERVCFG.*), then run SERVER.EXE.
or
2. Delete the registry entry in the registry file.
- REGEDIT
- cd HWDHARDWARE
- del the NBI_Disable_Scan key

Additional Information

Power outage occurred
The HWDHARDWARE\NBI_Disable_Scan registry key is set. This key will keep NBI from performing a Do_Scan on all of the busses in the system. Somehow the system hung or was rebooted in the process of performing the hardware scan leaving the registry key set. If the scan completes properly the key would have been cleared.
