The automatic workstation import/removal service configuration file
/etc/opt/novell/zenworks/zdm/novell-zdm-awsi.confhas been changed to specify the eDirectory NCP server object, following the provided LDAP sample syntax:

SERVER_DN=T=SKIER,O=NOVELL,OU=SERVICES,CN=MY_SERVER
..."

Root Cause
While the automatic workstation removal service talks LDAP to connect to eDirectory, at this time it expects the dotted eDirectory syntax the the SERVER_DN value instead of the comma separated LDAP notation.
