Inventory is not up to date based on scan schedule

Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Support Pack 1 - ZDM7 SP1 Inventory  IR3 HP3

Situation

Inventory Scanner is failing when scanning a component for various reasons.  When it fails no new inventory data is being loaded and when viewing reports the older data is seen.

Resolution

Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Service Pack 1 Interim Release 4 Hot Patch 2, see KB 3484245 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support.com

Additional Information

In this particular case it was happening because the delta str file for those workstations had wrong data about the desktop monitor. This triggered an error :
"110: Data instance in the scanned file is not found."
When this error happens, Storer triggers the workstation to send a full scan STR next time, and that will resolve the issue. What has been changed is that if the Storer sees this error a flag is set so that a full scan will be triggered immediately instead of having to wait for a full scan cycle to reoccur.
