Situation

The Brazilian government decided on short notice change the daylight saving period for 2008. Due to this change, service packs or maintenance updates are required for several Novell Linux based software products.

Resolution

Code 10 products: SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 (Desktop and Server), Open Enterprise Server 2 (Last updated: 2008-10-23)

The following packages are affected for SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 based products:
  • Core timezone package (glibc), Service Pack 2: fixed as of version 2.4-31.58. [Maint]
  • Core timezone package (glibc), Service Pack 1: fixed as of version 2.4-31.43.13. [Maint]
  • PHP: Fixed as of version 2008.7-0.3 of the php5-timezonedb package. [Maint]
  • IBM Java 1.5, Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 1: Fixed as of version 1.5.0_sr8a-1.1 of the java-1_5_0-ibm package. [Maint]
  • IBM Java 1.4.2: Fixed as of version 1.4.2_sr11-0.8 of the java-1_4_2-ibm package. [Maint]
