Environment

Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management
Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management

Situation

After removing some content from a bundle, the content that was removed is still being requested by the managed device.

Error (from zmd-messages.log.  NOTE: the GUID referenced below would be specific to the actual bundle content GUID):

Could not download bundle content for 763561a87d684578a9973dccb702b536 because a ZENworks Server could not be located.

Resolution

For ZCM 10.3: This is fixed in version 10.3.2 - see KB 7007237 "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

For ZCM 11: This is fixed in version 11.1 - see KB 7008746 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.1 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Additional Information

The problem occurs when a bundle action is originally built with multiple pieces of data.  For example, an install action to install files with 2 or more files to be installed.  After deleting one of the files in the install files action, then waiting for content cleanup to occur, the distributed bundles still point to missing content piece.

In the case for the problem described above, this SQL query finds no results:

select * from zContent where zuid=0x763561a87d684578a9973dccb702b536
