Environment

Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management

Situation

The "zman db" command is designed to backup Internal Sybase Databases, but if it is run in a zone using an External Sybase Database, the command may cause JAVA to run out of memory and crash the ZCM services.

An exception similar to the following is generally seen:
"com.mchange.v2.async.ThreadPoolAsynchronousRunner$PoolThread-#0"
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no dbjodbc10 in java.library.path
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1684)
    at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:822)

Resolution

This is fixed in version 11.1 - see KB 7008746 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.1 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Work around: do not issue the "zman db" command on primaries in a zone using the external Sybase Database.
