Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management Support Pack 1 - ZCM 11 SP1
Situation
System Update of agent to existing agents is not completely silent.
ZENworks Control Center (ZCC) > Configuration > System Update > System Update deployment options do not provide the option to suppress balloon status messages.
Resolution
This is fixed in version 11.2 - see KB 7010044 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
To make an upgrade "silent", go to Configuration > Device Management > System Update Agent > Show System Update Progress and set it to "Off". This setting can be made at Zone, Folder or Device Level
With this setting in place, no balloon tips are shown: an icon does appear, however on Windows 7 and above this will automatically be hidden by Windows by default after a few seconds, and it is possible to substitute an icon of choice as well.
