Situation

When attempting to add the "Inventory - Virtual Machine Type" or "Machine - Virtual Machine Type" in ZCM 11.x under the "VMWare" option filter to a Dynamic Workstation Group within ZCC, the following error was presented.

(MessageUtil..........85 :Error:  Unable to preview members)

when "Preview Members" is used.

Resolution

This is fixed in version 10.3.4 - see KB 7008244 "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.3.4 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support
