How to remove WebAccess from a Windows Server

Environment

Novell GroupWise
Microsoft Windows Server

Situation

Need to remove all traces of WebAccess from a Windows server
Uninstall WebAccess from Windows

Resolution

  1. Launch a Command Prompt and navigate to C:\Novell\tomcat6\bin
  2. Run the command service.bat remove to delete the Tomcat6 service
  3. Close the Command Prompt and delete the C:\Novell\tomcat6 directory
  4. Open the Control Panel and launch Programs and Features and uninstall Java(TM) 6 Update 26 (64-bit)
  5. Delete the C:\Novell\java directory 
  6. Launch the Windows Services and stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service service
  7. Launch the IIS Manager
  8. Go to the root of IIS (usually showing as “<servername>(<servername>\Administrator)” and open ISAPI Filters, right-click Tomcat filter and choose Delete 
  9. Go to the Default Web Site and open ISAPI Filters, right-click Tomcat filter and choose Revert to Parent
  10. Launch the IIS Manager
  11. In the left pane, expand to Sites | Default Web Site | jakarta
  12. Right-click and select remove for the jarkarta entry
