Situation

Unable to load LDAP after upgrading SLES 11 OES service pack using yast2 wagon
LDAP broken after upgrading OES 11

Resolution

  1. Launch a terminal session
  2. Type ndsconfig upgrade
    • In some cases, the ndsconfig upgrade fails because the LDAP server object is bad.  If this is the case, the LDAP server object should be deleted and ndsconfig upgrade will recreate it
  3. Fill in the prompts that follow
  4. Type nldap -u and then nldap -l

Cause

ndsconfig upgrade did not complete successfully

Additional Information

/var/opt/novell/eDirectory/log/ndsd.log shows the errors
Failed to modify 4 entries on LDAP Server object 'CN=LDAP Server - Server Name\O=Novell' in UpgradeLDAPServerObject, err = no such attribute (-603)
