Situation

When Local Group Policies are set up and ZEN workstation Group Policies are applied, the Local Group Policies do not apply afterwards

Resolution

For ZDM7: Fixed in ZENworks 7 with SP1 Desktop Management, available at Novell Downloads

For ZDM6.5 SP2: fixed in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management SP2 IR1 or newer found at Novell Downloads

Additional Information

Duplication Example Steps:
  1. Create a Local Group Policy that removes the Recycle Bin and Network Properties icon from the desktop.
  2. Create a Workstation Group Policy, that disables the creation of a new task (under Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Task Scheduler->Prohibit New Task Creation, set it to disable.
  3. Important: Uncheck the User Configuration and Security Settings checkboxes. Associate to the workstation.
  4. Reboot the machine.
  5. After the reboot, notice that the ZEN Group Policy applied, but the local Group Policy is no longer in effect.
