NAL browser plugin upgrade fails on win98

Environment

Microsoft Windows 98
Novell ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management - ZDM6.5 Application Launcher (NAL)
Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management - ZDM7 Application Launcher (NAL)
Full ZENworks agent is not installed

Situation

If the NAL Workstation Browser is installed on Windows 98 (by loading the myapps.html page) without the full agent, then errors might be seen when upgrading to a later version of the NAL Workstation Browser, such as "ncred9x.dll cannot be loaded" before logging in.

Resolution

Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Service Pack 1 Interim Release 3a, available at https://download.novell.com

Workaround:
  1. Uninstall NetIdentity from the Add/Remove programs
  2. Open a DOS box and type these commands
    1. cd"\program files\novell\zenworks"
    2. \win98\system\regsvr32 /u axnalserver.dll
  4. Launch MyApps.html from the server again
  5. NetIdentity is installed again properly

Additional Information

This problem does not occur if the full ZENworks Agent is installed.
