Test Environment

The following setup was used to execute test runs for the ESP-enabled SSL VPN deployment scenarios:

Test Set Up

ESP-enabled SSL VPN, Administration Console and Identity Server are installed on a single machine. All the installations were on virtual machines.

Test Execution Scenarios

The Novell Access Manager 3.1.1 SSL VPN test cases were executed on both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware. The supported applications were tested on all the supported platforms in both Kiosk and Enterprise mode. The Web based applications were tested by using the supported browsers.

The SSL VPN connection to application servers such as GroupWise, GroupWise Messenger, GroupWise Notify, iFolder, and iPrint were tested by adding reverse routes on these servers. For those applications which did not have local servers,Network Address Translator(NAT) was enabled on the SSL VPN server.

Conclusion

The integration test team executed test cases for Novell Access Manager 3.1.1 SSL VPN on all the supported platforms such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, SLED 10, SLED 11 and Mac, as compared to the previous releases. Most of the secondary applications were tested on the supported platforms. Most of the Novell applications worked well through the SSL VPN connection in Enterprise mode. There are known limitations with various Novell applications connecting across Kiosk mode. These scenarios were not included as part of the CIT test execution for Novell Access Manager 3.1.1 release but are documented in the known issues section of the patch readme.

All the identified interoperability test cases were executed and following were the findings:

• SSL VPN did not render other Novell products inoperable

• All deferred interoperability defects were communicated to the core team of the impacted product.

Apart from the known issue with Conferencing Client no major issues were detected.
