SUSE Linux Enterprise 11: Open Source Encryption Tools (Advanced Technical Training) [Course 9225]

Course Overview

Flexible encryption tools are one of the great advantages of open source software. This course covers the use of simple and industrial strength, open source encryption tools found in SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 by performing encryption tasks on files, archives, volumes, and drives. It provides exercises to teach the Vim, OpenSSL, LUKS, and Cryptsetup open source encryption tools.

It is intended for students already familiar with Linux but not necessarily familiar with the encryption tools available at the SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 command line.

Course Prerequisites

Before taking this course, you should have strong Bash and Linux command line skills and System Administration experience dealing with the following:
  • Creating file systems
  • Mounting volumes
  • Using loop devices and other device files
