Some of the issues that were discovered in the original shipping version of PlateSpin Recon 3.7, PlateSpin Recon 3.7.1, and PlateSpin Recon 3.7.2 have not yet been resolved. For continuing issues, review the following:
This section contains Known Issues in PlateSpin Recon 3.7.3.
In the Recon client Data Center Explorer, the Virtual Machines appear as the child nodes of the Virtual Machine Host such as the ESX or SEN server. When you perform the delete action on a Container, which is the Virtual Machine Host, all Virtual Machines under that Container are deleted.
Workaround: To delete only the Container, do the following:
Export a snapshot of the Virtual Machines under the Container that you want to delete from the Recon client.
Delete the Container.
Import the snapshot of the Virtual Machines into the Recon Client.
If the forecasted values for the counters used in consolidation planning are too large to be accommodated in a decimal data type, creation of a scenario might fail, displaying one of the following error messages:
Unable to create consolidation plan for scenario. Forecasted values are out of range, please try creating project or scenario without forecasting.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
This is a known issue with Exponential and Linear forecasting.
Workaround: Perform one of the following actions while creating a Project or Scenario:
Create a project or a scenario by using a forecasting type other than Exponential or Linear forecasting.
Create a project or a scenario without forecasting.
If you use a PlateSpin Analyzer Client with a different version of a PlateSpin Migrate Server, the Analyzer tests for the Conversion process fail.
Workaround: For accurate results of the Analyzer tests for the Conversion process, use the same version of the PlateSpin Analyzer Client that is packaged with the Migrate Server.
When you perform an inventory of Windows Server 2008 with Hyper V that has a Teaming Adapter configured, the PlateSpin does not detect the Teaming Adapter. In the Recon client, the Teaming Adapter is not listed on the Device Properties page.
Workaround: None.
