A Forum reader recently asked:
I have a quick question about the Apache2 configuration and the location of /gw/webacc. I use a simple one-to-one NAT for external webaccess. When external users go to http://webaccess.mycompany.com/, they end up hitting the default OES2 management page (which results in a 403 error, because it’s protected with .htaccess). While I could tell all my users to use http://webaccess.mycompany.com/gw/webacc instead, I’d rather keep it simple for them.
So, how can I make the default OES2 management page on http://server_ip/ listen on a different port, and make /gw/webacc the new document root on port 80?
And here’s the respnse from Tim Heywood …
Add the following line to the bottom of the httpd.conf file or the gwapache2.conf (or whichever you have used):
redirect permanent /index.html http://<dns or IP of server>/gw/webacc
If you have just upgraded to GroupWise 7, and you would like the web server to redirect requests for the old /servlet/webacc URL to be automatically redirected to /gw/webacc, then add the following after the above line:
redirect permanent /servlet/webacc http://<dns or IP of server>/gw/webacc
