About Laura Buckley

I am a Technical Consultant & Trainer. I am actively involved in both training and consulting for internal and external customers on a broad range of technologies. I have been working extensively with Novell products since 1990. As a Master CNI I have delivered countless Novell courses and in 2010 was awarded Advanced CNI status specializing in GroupWise. With Micro Focus in the picture now I have certified as a Micro Focus Authorized Instructor again specializing in GroupWise. I am particularly fascinated with email and email systems, and can be found hanging out in the GroupWise forums. I am passionate about the sharing of knowledge and am committed to lifelong learning. When not working, I enjoy camping, cooking and my Kindle.

The mystery of the missing e-mail attachments

We have had a few people contact us asking if our e-mail filtering system “strips” attachments. The short answer to this is NO. If we don’t like the attachment we block/reject the entire e-mail. Having said this people are still receiving e-mail that appear to have no attachments. This issue is caused by Microsoft Outlook! Here’s the scoop.

We started having some problems receiving e-mail from a large, listed (RSA), retail company. Considering the size of the company and the millions that it makes in profits each year one would assume that they would have some decent system in place. Think again!
