We recently started testing, and then deploying, ZENworks Configuration Management 10.2. For our test setup, we installed ZCM on SLES 10.3 as a XEN virtual machine. We are a small company, so it’s not uncommon for us to convert a test setup to a production setup if the testing goes well. Our testing of ZCM went well, so we decided to leave the ZCM on the XEN virtual machine. One problem though: storage space for images.

One long standing gripe I and some of my end users have had about GroupWise is the lack of a good address book import function. Well, with GroupWise 8, that complaint is no longer valid. There is now a very nice import function in the address book. Let’s walk through importing some contacts so everyone can see just how easy and elegant this new function is.

GroupWise 8 has a great new feature: embedded web pages! GW8 lets you setup panels that show web pages. As soon as I heard about this feature, the wheels in my head started turning. Our company uses a lot of web based applications. This new feature of GroupWise is enabling what I call “Application Folders”. This is really just a folder in panel view, but I am going to show you how it can be much more than just an embedded web page.
