ZENworks Reporting Import or Export tool

ZENworks Reporting Import Export tool helps you to exchange reports from one ZENworks Reporting server to another. You can export a set of reports into a zip file by using this tool and you can share it as a Cool Solutions link.

You can download any useful reports (zip file) from the Cool Solutions site and import it into ZENworks Reporting server by using this tool.

Scenario 1: User finds useful reports in the cool solutions site and wants to import in ZENworks Reporting

Perform the following steps to import useful reports into ZENworks Reporting server:

On Windows:

  1. Log into the ZENworks Reporting physical device as an Administrator.
  2. Download the zrsReports_export.zip file to the ZENworks Reporting server.
  3. Download ZRImportExportTool.zip file, and extract to any location on the ZENworks Reporting server.
  4. Go to the extracted location of the ZRImportExportTool folder.
  5. Run the import.bat file.
  6. In the Windows prompt; specify absolute path of the zrsReports_export.zip file and press Enter. The execution might take few minutes.
  7. Login to the ZENworks Reporting and go to Repository > Folders > Organization > Reports > ZENworks Cool Solutions to view newly added reports.

On Linux:

  1. Log into the ZENworks Reporting physical device as an root user.
  2. Download the zrsReports_export.zip file to the ZENworks Reporting server.
  3. Download ZRImportExportTool.zip file, and extract to any location on the ZENworks Reporting server.
  4. Provide execute permissions to ZRImportExportTool folder by using the chmod777-r<extractedfolderpath> command.
    For example, chmod777-r/ZRImportExportTool
  5. Go to the extracted location of the ZRImportExportTool folder.
  6. Run the import.sh file.
  7. Specify absolute path of the zrsReports_export.zip file and press Enter. The execution might take few minutes.
  8. Login to the ZENworks Reporting and go to Repository > Folders > Organization > Reports > ZENworks Cool Solutions to view newly added reports.

Scenario 2: User creates a report and wants to share with the community through Cool Solutions site

Perform the following steps to export useful reports from ZENworks Reporting server:

On Windows:

  1. Log into ZENworks Reporting
  2. Go to Repository > Folders > Organization > Reports.
  3. Add a ZENworks Cool Solutions folder, if the ZENworks Cool Solutions folder does not exist. Specify the exact name of the ZENworks Cool Solutions folder.
  4. Copy the report that you want to export under ZENworks Cool Solutions folder. You can create a folder structure of your choice under which the report can be copied.
    For example: If the name of the report is a my report1 under ZENworks Cool Solutions folder you can create a folder name as my reports and can copy the report into this folder.
  5. Download the ZRImportExportTool.zip file to the ZENworks Reporting server.
  6. Go to the extracted location of the ZRImportExportTool folder.
  7. Run the export.bat file.
  8. In the Windows prompt specify the URI of the report or the URI of the folder containing reports. The URI must start with /reports/ZENworks_Cool_Solutions/
    Perform the following steps, to get the URI:
    a. Log into ZENworks Reporting.
    b. Go to the report or the folder that contain reports in the repository.
    c. Right-click on the specified report or folder and click Properties.
    d. In the Properties window, copy the text from Path field. This is the URI for the resource.
    The execution might take few minutes.
  9. The zrsReports_export.zip is created on the root directory. You can share the zrsReports_export.zip file (do not rename the file) as a Cool Solutions link or through email.

On Linux:

  1. Log into ZENworks Reporting.
  2. Go to Repository > Folders > Organization > Reports.
