Do you know the true cost of social media? Find out at Storage Networking World this week

October 11, 2010 11:30 am

It’s no secret that organizations have a love/hate relationship with their file systems (See Dilbert’s take here); they depend on them to house the volumes of data their end users create with traditional and new media applications, yet are often overwhelmed by the sheer task of locating important files located sometimes several layers deep in the system. This is at the heart of Ross Chevalier’s talk today at Storage Networking World Fall.  Data, whether deeply archived in a business’s file system, or closer to the surface, represents an organization’s intellectual capital as well as the primary output of employee creativity and productivity. But with the digital and social collaboration boom, so too comes increasingly complex file management requirements. Ross will be sharing insight and user success stories on how to address this rapidly increasing storage problem: keeping up with file management as an organization becomes more socially and collaboratively connected.
