Filr 1.0 Hot Patch available

July 5, 2013 10:17 am

Novell has uncovered an issue involving the use of Personal Storage and a potential data loss. If Personal Storage is enabled and a user moves a Personal Folder to his/her Home folder (or another Net Folder) a problem can occur if the moved folder is later purged. Specifically, the entire Home folder or Net Folder contents may be deleted from the source file system. A Filr 1.0 patch released July 2 prevents the unintentional purging of the Home folder or Net Folder from occurring.

If you have enabled “Personal Storage” in Filr 1.0 for your users, you should immediately apply “Filr 1.0 Hot Patch 1.” The patch can be found at under Filr 1.0 patches.

Please note you must apply this patch to prevent any data loss from occurring: applying the patch after a data loss will not restore the deleted data. If you have further questions please contact your Novell account representative or Novell Support.

Thanks for being a Filr user!
