The Collaboration Community Technical webinar for October, “How to get the most out of GroupWise Monitor”  is now available online to view. Just click the Link to access it.

This month we had a guest speaker from the community deliver the webinar for us, Diethmar Rimser of Open Horizons and BrainAgents. Deithmar has done such an excellent job at Open Horizons events, TTP, GWAVACon etc.. We wanted to introduce him to the entire community.

In the webinar Robin Redgrave, one of our SEs, mentioned his top 100 GWMonitor thresholds to set. Since it was mentioned you can download the monitor.xml file with those thresholds and apply.

To apply to your system,  follow these simple steps:

  1. Monitor needs to be stopped before editing the monitor.xml this is because the file is written on exit and may overwrite files
  2. Insert the contents into your monitor.xml
  3. Restart monitor
  4. Do not be worried by all the alerts you need to Baseline it for your system

We have not yet posted the topic and registration link for next months Webinar. Stay posted to this blog as we will announce it soon.

Don’t forget we choose the topics for Collaboration Community Technical Webinar series by you telling us what you want to see. So be sure to visit the Ideas Forum for the CCTW and vote for the topics you would like to see in coming months. Not seeing a topic you would like training on? Add it to the list!

Never knew that GroupWise Monitor had such great reporting on the GWIA gateway’s log files that are auto emailed each midnight.

Just can not wait to see what will become of GroupWise Monitor when GWAVA’s Redline is merged in to it.

  2. When adding Robin’s thresholds, note that:
    – it goes before the at the end.
    – in includes a blank notify section that will overwrite yours, merge them cautiously
    – some of the thresholds don’t appear to work on GW14.2.1.1, so don’t panic about warning, just look closely at what monitor alerts about and remove those from your monitor.xml while monitor is off.
