Today – Novell announced the immediate availability of the GroupWise Mobility Service 2.0.1 (GMS) release! Novell has released this version ahead of the GroupWise 2014 release because this version of GMS is required for all customers who will soon be deploying GroupWise 2014.
Over the course of the last several weeks, our beta sites, customers, and internal testing has revealed a few short comings of GMS 2.0 that required this update and will more fully support GroupWise 2014. Best practice recommends and Novell strongly suggests updating to GMS 2.0.1 now and in anticipation of deploying GroupWise 2014.
What’s New in 2.0.1?
This release of GMS is strictly a support pack and no additional features or capabilities are included. However, we have strengthened the support for GWAVA virus scanning with this update and also recommend GMS 2.0.1 for any/all customers that will be deploying mobile virus scanning solutions, like GWAVA, in their environments.
This release was focused on customer and beta reported issues. Many of those were GroupWise 2014 integration defect fixes. GMS 2.0.1 puts the product and our customers in a very good position for continued success with GroupWise. Engineering addressed approximately 40 defects in this update.
While many of you are anxiously waiting and preparing for GroupWise 2014, GroupWise Mobility Service 2.0.1 is a critical step. If you are planning on upgrading to GroupWise 2014, you will need to be running GroupWise Mobility Service 2.0.1. This version is now the official pre-requisite and an easy one to check off your GroupWise 2014 preparation list.
