Montreal, QC – September 22, 2009 – Messaging Architects, the global experts in email risk management, today announced the launch of its new eDiscovery Resource Center. The online portal is designed as a one-stop resource center where organizations can find answers to questions about eDiscovery and electronic records retention. All materials are available free of charge to visitors.
The goal of the eDiscovery Center is to inform and educate visitors on all aspects of discovery, whether for litigation, internal audit, access to information (including FOIA requests), or improved accessibility to corporate intellectual property. The resource center features informative compliance briefs on topics of public interest, such as SOX, open records requests, and FRCP. In addition, visitors to the eDiscovery Center will gain hands-on knowledge of how organizations in different industries are addressing their specific discovery challenges. A number of real-life case studies showcase tools and approaches to successfully managing compliance and addressing eDiscovery requests.
According to a recent Forrester study, conducted in conjunction with ARMA International, only 63% of records management stakeholders currently leverage technology to enforce retention management for email.
“Given the importance of electronic evidence in litigation, our goal is to offer up-to-date, relevant information about electronic records retention, legal discovery, email retention requirements, and issues related to eDiscovery,” explained eDiscovery expert and Product Manager for M+Archive at Messaging Architects Ranjit Sarai. “Our clients look to us not only for insight on technology, but also for proven services and expert guidance. Through the eDiscovery Center we have the opportunity to share our experience with other organizations facing similar challenges.”
The compliance briefs were developed in collaboration with leading technology attorney Ben Wright, the author of Business Law and Computer Security, published by the SANS Institute. According to Mr. Wright: “The law of electronic record retention and management is changing swiftly, and organizations struggle to keep up. In responding to these changes, no one possesses more practical experience and insights than Messaging Architects. The eDiscovery Center will open this wealth of knowledge to a wider audience.”
Messaging Architects’ commitment to the maturing eDiscovery community is manifested through a number of initiatives: The organization is an active participant in industry standards organizations, such as the Electronic Discovery Reference Model Group, regularly contributes on topical issues through white papers, articles, blogs, and webcasts, and has engaged records and information managers in a number of local seminars. Messaging Architects will also present a session on how Records Managers can become Agents of Change for eDiscovery and records retention at the annual ARMA International Conference in Orlando, Florida, from October 15-18.
